Tired of your garden looking like a jungle?

I am Katie, owner of Botanica Design and I love turning neglected, unkempt and tired gardens into beautiful, thriving spaces with glorious planting design. I am based in the Peak District and Nottingham, covering both Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

Whether you are looking for some inspiration for a redesign of a few flowerbeds in your garden or a full-scale garden revamp, I provide a full planning and planting service, working closely with you to achieve the garden that works for you. Whether your space is small and shady, or large and sunny – I will create a design that works for you and your budget. I may also be able to keep your garden maintained once work is completed.

There are many planting styles and I will work closely with you to discover your likes, dislikes and personal style and provide moodboards to fire your imagination. I will create a plan for an imaginative, creative and cohesive design that works with the local landscape and the architecture of your home. 

I have run my own successful garden maintenance company since 2019 and have been lucky enough to transform a number of period property gardens in the Peak District, both large and small, from neglected, overgrown places into the country gardens that the owners dreamt of. I continue to work with several of these properties by maintaining and continuing to develop their wonderful gardens.

Qualifications (a bit more About Me)

I trained in Horticulture at the University of Birmingham (Winterbourne) and Royal Botanical Gardens Edinburgh gaining an RHS Diploma in Principles & Practices in Horticulture (with Commendation) and have lived in the Peak District since 2016. I have undertaken several professional planting design qualifications and love building on my knowledge through learning with experts in the field.
